The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by flu viruses and flu seaon typically runs from December to March but can last to up untill May. Flu vaccinations can be used to diminish the effects of flu seaon and are offered free of charge from the NHS to people who are at the most risk. Those considered to be at risk are those over the age of 65, pregnant women, those with certain medical conditions where the vaccine is required, those living in a long-stay residental care home or if you are a career for an eldery or a disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if you were to fall ill.
